BRADLEY, Daniel f.: A Boy's First Book of Chlamydia: Poems 1996-2002
88pp. 8vo. Perfectbound into wrappers, with printed title plate to the front cover.Daniel f. Bradley has been developing his craft in Toronto for the last 20 years with little to no recognition from literary critics. In fact, despite the vast body of work that has appeared, Daniel has never sought a public larger than what he can touch with his own senses. In a similar fashion, Daniel's poetry is immediate and intimate - a poetry that cleans language to a point millimeters before abstraction can occur. With an uncanny and fetishistic urban lyricism that has quietly claimed its own linguistic territory in the heart of Toronto, the poetry of Daniel f. Bradley attempts to be nothing more than language pure and simple. BookThug is proud to present this first full-length trade edition by the poet who wrote the poem from which BookThug takes its name.

BRADLEY, Daniel f.: books of blue fit Teaser Vol 1
Toronto: self-published by the author, 1996. Limited Edition 4to. np [28 pages]. One of 26 numbered copies [of which this is #22] printed on salvaged paperstock ëfrom the psr, tbr, fdi, eor, and other blue boxesí (from the colophon). 14 letter-sized sheets printed both sides (although presumably only one side was printed specifically for this publication) hand sewn in the Japanese style along the spine. Illustrated throughout in black and white; one hand-tipped colour plate. Work that was later gathered into Books of Blue Frit, published by outlands in 1998. To my mind an important collection, for one can see the breakthrough of Bradleyís mature voice, which he has continued to develop and refine since the mind 90s: a poetics of minimalist fetishistic lyricism. Important to this publication is the inclusion of a variety of visual work, which Bradley seems to have more or less abandoned in recent years. Also important to this copy (I am uncertain if it is the case in all copies) is that two of the sheets were printed on the backs of ëSelected Bibliography of Daniel f. Bradley (April 1996)í, which lists smallpress publications by Bradley from 1986 to 1996. This includes a list of ëother book contributionsí on the following page. Fine.
