Current projections suggest that every ten and a half minutes, somewhere on this planet, a species goes extinct. Every 26 minutes, a book is published in Canada. Names are named; blame is placed where it should be. Presented in the practical form of greeting cards available now to you for your personal use.

BELFORD, Ken: Lan(d)guage
BELFORD, Ken. Lan(d)guage. Halfmoon Bay: The Caitlin Press, 2008. First Edition. 8vo. Perfect bound into Wrappers. New. 83pp. In Ken Belford's fifth book of poetry he takes us on a journey through Canada's roadless north where he has discovered a third world gaze, looking out at industrialism and its impact on a region rich in resources and natural beauty. Lan(d)guage is an unsentimental and non-reactionary perspective, a deep investigation of the psychology of both the electronic revolution and postmodernism. It is also a collective conversation having to do with the mobile geographies of inequality. The poems are a study in the social cost of privilege and what it means to have access to power, surveillance and identity.

BELFORD, Ken: Pathways Into The Mountains
BELFORD, Ken. Pathways Into The Mountains. Prince George: Caitlin Press, 2000. First Edition. 8vo. Perfect bound into Wrappers. Fine. 91pp. An eco- poet who examines the archtypically Canadian conflict of development and preservation, Ken Belford looks at both sides, delving into the heard of each arcument. Though favouring the preservation side of the argument, it is clear that he understands the reasoning for both arguments. IN some of his poems, Ken feels that his way of life -- his continued survival -- implicates him in something about which he should feel guilty. The food he eats, the house he dwells in, and the oil that keeps him woarm are all the products of the development that is destroying the natural order. For Belford, development means sadness, loss, and bitterness. This does not, however, stop him from retaining hope that humanity as a whole can find a way to cherish, and preserve, the beauty that surrounds us.

BELLAMY, Dodie: Barf Manifesto
BELLAMY, Dodie. Barf Manifesto. Brooklyn: Ugly Duckling Presse, 2008. First Edition. 8vo. Stapled Wrappers. New. 30pp. Asked to write a paper on alternative forms of memoir for the 2007 Modern Language Association conference, Bellamy wrote an admiring analysis of "Everyday Barf," the essay that concludes Eileen Myles's recent poetry collection SORRY, TREE. Bellamy's talk, "MLA Barf," became a rousing defense of the "barf" as a literary form. Here "MLA Barf" is joined by its sequel, "CCA Barf," delivered as a lecture at the California College of the Arts some months later. Together the two talks celebrate Eileen Myles--especially her genius for bringing the body into writing--as well as the conceptual practices of two British visual artists, Tariq Alvi and Bridget Riley.

BELLAMY, Dodie: Pink Steam
BELLAMY, Dodie. Pink Steam. San Francisco: Suspect Thoughts Press, 2004. First Edition. 8vo. Perfect bound into Wrappers. New. 190pp. Pink steam rises from the vats of melting goo in the Vincent Price 3-D horror classic, House of Wax. Railroad buffs know pink steam as the first blast from a newly christened steam engine, which appears pink as it spews out rust. And now Pink Steam, the book, reveals the intimate secrets of Dodie Bellamy's life -- sex, shoplifting, voyeurism, writing. Like L. Frank Baum's Dorothy, in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Bellamy grows up in a dreary Midwestern town. She's a bossy, queer child who identifies with the freaks she watches on The Twilight Zone. Her father's a carpenter obsessed with Kipling's The Jungle Book -- the only book he's ever read. Her mother is a pragmatist who longs for a normal daughter. Eventually Bellamy hurls out of Indiana tumbles into Oz -- San Francisco's bohemian Mission District.
