Hazard is a collection of prose-poems and some other fine bonbons about the dangers and delights of the art-making life. In particular it explores the uncanny biographical details of seven artists/writers: Balzac, Claude Cahun, Kathy Acker, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Osip Mandelstam, Samuel Beckett, and Malcolm Lowry.

Jake Kennedy lives in Kelowna, British Columbia. His work has appeared in a number of Canadian, US, and UK literary journals. He has a daughter named Rae and a partner named Marlo. Jake is currently working on a book of doodles.

HAZARD is the winner of the 2007 bpNichol Award.
